Ideally situated on State Highway 37 NY, the Riverview Motel is within easy reach of Ottawa Airport (1 hour) Montreal Airport (2 hours) and Syracuse Airport (3 hours).

Flights from the UK

If travelling between May and October, the best flights are available from Canadian Affair www.canadianaffair.com telephone 0207 616 9933 London or 0141 223 7515 Glasgow, they also do the most reasonable car hire with fully inclusive rates.

Other airlines available are Air Canada telephone 0871 220 1111and British Airways www.ba.com both fly to Montreal, with Air Canada also flying to Ottawa on a daily basis, but they are slightly dearer than the Canadian Affair flights, who use Thomas Cook and have the biggest seat capacity.

Most American airlines fly to Syracuse but these are not usually direct flights and there is a longer journey to the motel when you land.

Insurance

You should never fly without insurance, especially to America as medical bills are extremely expensive. Canadian Affair offer insurance and also Columbus 0207 375 0011 at competitive rates.

Licences

You must have a current N.Y.S fishing licence or hunting licence if you are going to do either of these while you are there, both of which are available locally. If you fish or hunt without a licence you can be arrested.

Speed Limits

The speed limit on most roads is 55 mph but be aware that cars hired in Canada have dual readings with kilometres being the predominant reading.
